Rod & Hammer’s SLO Stills partnered with Firestone Walker Brewing Co. on a rescue mission to recover thousands of kegs of craft beer headed past their date codes due to the COVID-19 shutdown.

Tanker trucks full of the donated beer will be distilled into whiskey, then aged in new oak barrels and used DBA (Double Barrel Ale) barrels from Firestone Walker’s oak-barrel brewing system to impart notes of caramel, English toffee and toasted oak.

$10 of every bottle sold to the nonprofit Restaurants Care in support of industry workers facing unprecedented hardship surrounding COVID-19. Read more at restaurantscare.org.
